Answer search engine Brainboost relaunched(March 19 2005) The answer search engine Brainboost has been around for a couple of years, but was recently revamped and relaunched. Here is why you should take a look.
Instead Brainboost presents you with a series of answers to the question you entered. The answers form complete sentences stating facts that are relevant to your question. If your question was “Where is Norway?” the answers states that “More than 40% of Norway is located north of the Arctic Circle,“ “Norway is located in the Scandinavian peninsula in northwestern Europe” and ” Norway is located at 33°2659" North, 81°734" West”. In this way Brainboost presents you with adequate answers to your question and saves you the work of visiting several web sites and scanning them for answers. In addition there are links to the web pages where the answers were found Brainboost uses the new, patented AnswerRank system, which reads hundreds of web pages derived from search results and extracts just the short and concise answer to your question. So if you are not researching complex issues, but are searching the web for the answer to a question, Brainboost could save you time and effort. There are other players on the natural language search arena, Kozoru and Stochasto among others. Kozoru has a neat home page, but alas, they do not yet have a product. Stochasto has Answer Search, which is launched in Russian, and the company is getting ready for the American market. However, they do not have a web search service, but are going for the corporate search niche. This gives Brainboost a head start. Every Brainboost page has an animated logo, which we find rather annoying. Apart from that, the design is good and the presentation is uncluttered and easy to navigate. And every result page has an envelope icon that lets you mail the answers to a friend – or maybe to yourself for future reference?
