More Yahoo! ShortcutsYou can use the Yahoo! search form for more than searching. Use it , for instance, as a calculator or a currency converter. By Lars Iselid Yahoo! keeps on filling its reborn search engine with more shortcuts, i.e. easy ways to access to a specific database or service.Unfortunately, many of these shortcuts are only interesting for American searchers. You can search for area code, writing e.g. area code Boston. Zip codes will appear if you search for example for zip code Boston. Like Google, Yahoo! now has a calculator that will do subtraction (-), addition (+), multiplication (*), and division (/). E.g. (2+2)*10/2 or 2+2*10/2. There is a shortcut for exchange rates as well. At the time of writing, it does not work for all currencies, but this search worked: convert 81 yen dollar. You can search for time zones by typing e.g. time in Glasgow United Kingdom. Shortcuts converting weight, measures, and temperatures are very convenient e.g. for Scandinavians, who might have problems with tasks like convert 81 fahrenheit, convert 81 inches, convert 81 pound. There is even a list of units that can be converted and a list of all Search Shortcuts. Yahoo! has now shortcuts for the following data. Some of them are limited to the US. Go to Yahoo!
