Yahoo! includes Northern Light article collection

(Jan 23 2002) Divine acquires Northern Light and provides paid articles to Yahoo!

Although Northern Light has closed its regular search engine to the public, the enterprise is far from dead. On January 22 the "integrated solution provider" divine announced the acquisition of Northern Lightís premium content services, enterprise search technology and e-commerce transaction engine.

(And yes, it is a "how nineties" lower case "d" in divine.)

The first customer of the new heavenly Northern Light is no less than Yahoo! Yahoo! is now introducing a new "Premium Document Search" service based on Northern Light's special collection of over 7100 sources. The content will be available for 1 to 4 US$ per article. Free article summaries are available before purchase.

According to the Yahoo! Premium Document Search Help you may also subscribe to the service and get 50 documents for $4.95 per month. However, only "qualifying" documents are available under this alternative.

Documents that can be purchased with a subscription will be marked with the words "Subscription Document" next to the price on the article summary page. There is a separate list of sources delivering "qualifying documents"
