Coming Search Engine Conferences

The need to network and learn is as great in the search engine community as in any other industry or fields of interest. Here are a couple of conferences that might be of interest to researchers, librarians and search engine optimization experts:

Informal "Pub Conference" in London July 21

Participants in the Webmaster World search engine discussion forum have initiated Europe's first search engine "Pub Conference".

Well, actually, it is not a conference at all, but rather an informal gathering of people interested in search engines and search engine promotion, for the purpose of networking and the sharing of ideas.

The gathering takes place on July 21st in the pub "The Cittie of Yorke", which is rumoured to have the longest bar counter in Britain.

San Francisco August Conference

Internet.com is arranging one of its traditional Search Engine Strategies conferences in San Francisco August 16 and 17. Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Watch will play an important role.

The first day of the conference is "Promotion Day", designed to teach participants the ins-and-outs of search engine marketing from top experts in the field, along with information from the search engines themselves.

The second day is "Search, Techniques, Technology and Trends Day," designed for Searchers, Developers and Promoters.

Searchers will learn what's being done to improve the state of search and be armed with knowledge to help become better searchers. Developers will learn the secrets, skills and the hottest tools to make a site more searchable. Promoters will explore in-depth issues and have the opportunity to make a session that may have been missed on day 1.
