A Firefox from the new search engine Duck Duck Go is now out of beta. It blocks 44 million spam domains, 28% of which are found in Google. If you have the toolbar installed and by mistake you type in yotube.com in stead of youtube.com, it will alert you of the mistake and ask “Did you mean youtube.com?” After a few seconds, it will then automatically redirect you to the suggested site.

But still, the browser window is rather small. Entering a query and browsing the search results in Safari is cumbersome. Web search apps make this easier and many of them integrate multiple search engines and services. I have tested iPhone web search applications and reviewd our five favorites.

I am a big fan of social bookmarking. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t add to my huge collection on Delicious. But recently my online research is not just for blogging but for academic papers. So I have taken a look at three great free tools for social bookmarking that will let me register a wide range of bibliographic information. These tools also facilitate online research collaboration and networking.

It provides visual-based search and navigation for site visitors. Among the users of this technology are the websites of the US magazines Maxim and Hilary as well as Russian Newsweek and Cosmopolitan in Russia. The launch of Quintura Site Search into the U.S. market on October 21 comes after the technology was awarded a U.S. patent. Quintura also raised new funding from Mangrove Capital Partners last month to scale the site search business.
