At the end of two and a half years, the EU project CHORUS concluded its work at a conference in Brussels recently. The conference focused on status and challenges of multi media search engine technology, but also addressed the challenges, gaps, commonalities, difficulties, targeted/expected impacts and success criteria related to search initiatives.

The call for speakers submission deadline for the Online Information Conference is now extended to 8th May. The CHORUS conference on multimedia search engines wil take place in Brussels, Belgium, on the 26th and 27th May 2009. The conference will address the challenges, gaps, communalities, difficulties, targeted/expected impacts and success criteria related to search initiatives. It event will bring together high level representatives of various international initiatives, which have been established recently, both in Europe and globally, to support research and technical development in the area of audio-visual content processing, indexing and searching for the next generation Internet.

Singularity claims to be the first large-scale online web conference in the world.
