Get Together by and for alternative search engines
AltSearchEngines is hosting the first ever Get Together by and for Alt Search Engines. It will be on Monday, April 21st, one day before the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco.
Did you know there are more than 150 alternative search engines out there, each daring to take the bull by the horns and challenge the three titans of search, Google, Yahoo and Microsoft.
Charles Knight, the man behind the AltSearchEngines blog has invited 150 alternative search engines to a get together, figuring that the inventive people behind the World’s alternative search engines will have much to discuss.
So far about 40 search engines have confirmed they will be coming. The primary goal of the get together is social, and there will be ample time for meeting each other:
7-9 Highly social coffee
9-12 Three 45 min panels (by Kosmix, Kango, Seeqpod)
12-2 Socializing lunch
2-5 Three 45 min panels
5-? Still more socializing
Charles Knight tells Pandia: “As far as I know, there have never been so many search engines in one room at one time. The attendees include KartOO from France, Lexxxe from Australia and GoPubMed from Germany.”
