New German version of the Sproose search engine
Web 2.0 search engine Sproose adds a German language version.
This summer we reported on Sproose, the video search engine with a human touch.
In short Sproose is a search engine with a Web 2.0 social networking community on top. Search engine results (which are fetched from Google, Yahoo! and other search engines) are influenced in a Digg like manner by the members of Sproose.
The members can vote for the results/pages/videos they like by clicking om a special icon found to the left of any search result listing. They may also add a comment for others to read.
“Now we are bringing the Sproose search platform to Germany. It’s our first international expansion since launching the U.S. version in August 2007, says Bob Pack, the CEO of Sproose.
The German language version of Sproose (click on the de link at the upper right hand side) is more or less identical to the English one. The Google-like interface presents the logo at the top, a large search field below and a row of selected videos at the bottom.
Although the language of the interface is different the regular Web search results are identical. However, if you tick of the “Seiten auf Deutsch” option under the search field, German Sproose will provide you with German language search results.
One complaint: Sproose should provide a separate URL for the German version.
