Ixquick adds video search
The metasearch engine Ixquick tells us that they have added video search to their metasearch engine.
Ixquick is definitely one of the best metasearch engines out there, which make the addition of video search capabilities interesting.
It should be noted though that Ixquick is relying on Blinkx to deliver search results. (How do they come up with these names!) This is not a new video search engine.
Ixquick is not the only search site that has partnered with Blinkx. As we reported in our recent article on the Sproose video search engine, what is interesting is how these sites manages to integrate the Blinkx results into their own site’s look and feel.
Ixquick does this pretty well.
If you tick off the video option on the home page, Ixquick will add a few “popular” video feeds below the search form.
The video search result pages are pleasing to the eye: simplistic, uncluttered and easy to read. The source is given, and if possible Ixquick adds a video still photo or live video clip to the left of the listing.
You may restrict your video search to one of several sub-categories: Business, Entertainment, News, Sports and Community.
There is nothing new and revolutionary here, but the added video makes Ixquick an even more attractive search alternative.
