Pandia Weekend Wrap-up (Week 33/2007)
Pandia moves its email online and asks Google for more storage space. Then there are the headlines of the week, of course.

Pandia moves over to Gmail
Given our need to get access to our Pandia mail from various offices and all over the world, we have moved all our mail over to Gmail. I can hear you word of warning: “What about your privacy, man? Google can read all your mail!”
I know, although I doubt very much that they will do so. If that was discovered the headlines generated would seriously damage the company, and that sort of thing will get out.
Although we are a little nervous about the lack of private back-ups. There should definitely be a market for a Gmail back-up program.
It was purely technical reasons that made us choose Gmail. Using the Google desktop for Mac we can now search our hardrive at the same time as the Google email account.
As a matter of fact, Google is lagging behind in the online emal race. Below you will find a link that says that Yahoo! has passed Google as regards user satisfaction. The reason is not that Yahoo! has a better search engine — it has not — but that the new version of Yahoo! Mail is so good.
And here is a news item that probably has passed most of us by: Windows Live Hotmail will now give free users 5GB of storage. Yahoo! promises unlimited storage!
Google, which started the race, “only” provides 2.9 GB, although you may pay to get more. Come on, Google!
