Personalized Google becomes iGoogle
Until now we have refered to the Google Personalized Homepage as — well — “the Google Personalized Homepage.”
It doesn’t exactly slip of your tongue, does it? Clearly the Googlers are of the same opinion, because now the Personalized Homepage has been given a new snappy name.
No, it is not MyGoogle, which would make sense, but that is probably a bit too much like MyYahoo.
Instead Google has decided to do a Steve Jobs, calling the service iGoogle, which is fine by us. The main point for us is that Google clearly distinguish between personalized search and regular search, which is something the use of the new name achieves.
Google has snapped up the domain name igoogle.com.
