Yahoo adds popular trends to image and video search
Yahoo has updated their image and video search home pages.
Below the search form you will now be presented with a some of the most popular images on Yahoo! Image (or Video) Search right now. The first page shows some 18 images. If you wait, Yahoo will scroll through 5 times 18 images.
You can also go through the image sets by clicking on the relevant page number.
Click on an image and it takes you to a search engine result pages for the relevant search query.
Anuj Sahai and Sriram J. Sathish of Yahoo! says that they have seen double-digit percentage increases in engagement for both image and video search since launching these new home pages, with a 60% increase in time spent on the image search homepage.
Is this feature useful for hard core searchers? Not really. But entertaining? Definitely!
