Include blogs in your web surfing experience
Blogger Web Comments is a Firefox extension from Google that lets see what bloggers are saying about a web page you’re visiting. It uses Google’s own Blogsearch to find the up-to-date posts on blogs from all kinds of sources.
When you visit a web page, a little blue panel appears in the bottom right corner of your Firefox window. In the panel you can see a short summary to blog posts linking to this page. You can then click this panel and the blog post in a new tab.
There is a compact and an extended option for the panel. And if you click the little x, you hide the panel completely. To bring it back, you click the icon in the lower right corner of your browser and select “View comments.”
It is easy to add your own comments to the page you’re on. All you have to do is click the “Add a commentâ€? link in the panel. At the moment there is only support for adding comments via Blogger. Google hopes to add support for other blogging tools and services in the future.
If you already have a Blogger account, you’ll be prompted to sign in. If you don’t have an account, you’ll be invited to create one. Once you’re signed in, you can write your comment and it will be added to your blog automatically, with a link to the page you were looking at when you clicked “Add a comment.”
It will usually take 20-30 minutes for your comment to show up in Web Comments.
