Ask Jeeves commits to Europe
Ask Jeeves recently launched two European web search sites – Ask España and Ask Deutchland. This week they announced the opening of a Eropean research center.
The research center is located in Pisa, Italy, and will be Ask Jeeves’ European hub for search technology research and development. The Pisa center will work directly with the company’s two U.S.-based research centers.
In addition to the two new web search sites and the research center, Ask Jeeves reveals in a press release that there are plans for further European launches later this year.
Ask Jeeves hopes that the research center in Italy will get the company broader access to European professionals as well as helping the company to further advance its search technology.
The Pisa team has expertise in machine learning, social networking, data mining, information retrieval and more.
