123people search engine adds national sites outside the US
Deep web people search engine adds British, German, Austrian, French, Swiss and Spanish sites.
We reviewed the 123people search engine i October last year.
This is a new type of people search engine that finds information from hundreds of publicly available sources on the web in real-time, including from social network profiles, web links, email address, news pages, images and videos.
123people has now announced several localized versions of 123people:
UK - 123people.co.uk
Germany - 123people.de
Austria - 123people.au
France - 123people.fr
Switzerland - 123people.ch
Spain - 123people.es
We think this is a great idea.
One thing though: When we visited the French site, we were greeted with an English language interface. It turns out language selection is an independent variable. You select language by clicking on one of the links in the upper left hand corner: IT DE EN ES CAT.
If we know the French, some of them may be so insulted by this that they leave the site before discovering the FR.
It is interesting to see that you may select an Italian and Catalonian interface, even if there are no dedicated sites for Italy and Catalonia.
