Snap becomes part of the new NBCi site

According to the last (not latest) issue of the Snap Wire newsletter, Snap will be integrated in a new site called NBCi. We quote:

"As you may know, Snap is part of the NBCi family. In an effort to serve you better we are bringing all of our services together under the NBCi brand. This will culminate in our new site NBCi.com to be launched soon!"

A beta-version of the new Snap is headed by the NBCi logo. For some weeks it continued to use the name "Snap" for the directory. However, now the Snap word seems to be gone.

NBCi and Snap are now using technologies that the company has acquired from the New Zealand-based GlobalBrain.net, Inc. NBCi has implemented a Keyword Suggestor, a search navigation tool designed to make Internet users' searches more efficient by suggesting alternative keywords for searches. The suggestor is apparently "learning" by analyzing the users searches on NBCi's search sites.

NBCi reports that NBCi's Keyword Suggestor provides additional smart search terms over and beyond the original term or phrase a user may have been researching. The Keyword Suggestor functionality automatically forms a keyword network that guides users to relevant information. Users can access suggested searches by clicking on them in the "Related Searches" area on Snap search results pages.
