Deja.com deletes four years of Usenet postingsJune 2000 The Usenet is actually much older than the Web, and although the various discussion forums in this part of the Net has lost some of its popularity, the Usenet archives remain a valuable source of Information. Searcher and researchers have normally visited the highly praised Deja.com (earlier known as Dejanews) site to search for old messages. Until now, that is. It turns out that Deja.com needs much of the space on its Web servers for its comparison shopping service. Hence the site has deleted all messages predating May 1999. According to Salon.com, Richard Gorelick, chief strategy officer for Deja.com, says the site will put the old postings back up by the end of the year.
