Pandia launches metasearch engineFebruary 2000 ![]() On February 6 2000 the Pandia Search Central added a new metasearch engine to its toolbox. The engine is powered by the California-based Metagopher-company. Not one search engine covers more than 30% of the entire Web, so often you have to use more that just one to find what you are looking for. When using Pandia Metasearch you are searching the search sites Alta Vista, HotBot, Yahoo, Looksmart, Go Infoseek, GoTo and WebCrawler at once. The search results are collected and sorted, the duplicates are omitted, and the end result is presented to you in a simple format. All this means that there is very big chance you will find what your looking for more quickly. Are there any drawbacks? As not all the search services use the same search syntax and operators, it may be difficult to perform more advanced searches using Boolean search terms. So, if you do not succeed using Pandia Metasearch, we recommend that you search each search engine separately. Seasoned searchers may consult the Pandia Q-cards when doing this.
