Net Search Discussion Forums
There are several forums or discussion groups out there that focus on the topic of Internet searching, and you can learn a lot from all of them. Note, however, that many of them focus on the topic of search engine promotion, with Web masters discussing how they can get a favourable listing of their website in the search engines and directories. Still, even ordinary searchers can learn a lot from following these discussions, as they tell you a lot about how search engines work. WebmasterWorld.com
What makes WebmasterWorld different from some of the other forums on the Net, is the large number of optimization professionals taking part in the discussions. This means that it is a suitable source for up to date information on search engine development. That being said, this is probably not the place for the average Web searcher. Free Search Engine Discussion ForumsThis discussion board is hosted by "ihelpyou services", a Web promotion company. It is not as active as Search Engines Forum and Webmaster World, but there is some very useful information here. Moreover, newcomers to the search engine optimization scene will probably not feel as intimidated here as in some of the major forums. SEO experts MakeMeTop and Jill Whalen takes part as moderator and advisor respectively. Forums with this kind of people can't be bad. Search Engine ForumsThe Web based Search Engine Forums is part of a Jim's World, a larger site devoted to website promotion. Hence this forum is primarily for Web masters trying to get top search engine positions for their websites. Nevertheless, we would recommend most "serious" searchers and researchers to make a visit and lurk around, as thy will find a lot of interesting information. This is a very active forum.
The main categories are sorted according to the various search engines and directories - hence there is a "Yahoo forum", an "Excite forum" and so on. It is easy to use and easy to navigate. SearchGuildSearchGuild is a new web based forum focusing mainly onn search engine optimization and marketing. Since it is quite new, it can not show the same kind of traffic as some of the other forums. There is quite a lot of interesting information here, though. This is the only SEO forum we know of that has its own Explorer toolbar! Search Engine Watch ForumsSearch Engine Watch Forums is hosted by Search Engine Watch, one of the most influential search engine site on the planet. All in all this is a very active forum, with a lot of open minded and interesting discussion. Digital PointDigital Point Forums is run by a company selling business software packages. That hasn't stopped it from becoming one of the more popular search engine marketing forums on the Net. It has a fairly standard structures with forum categories for all relevant search engines, marketing and business topics, web design and development discussions and search engine marketing tools. SphinnIn the summer of 2007 search engine guru Danny Sullivan launched a new sister site to Search Engine Land called Sphinn. This discussion forum follows the paradigm of Digg, in that users may propose and vote for search engine relevant news stories and articles.
